Uh Oh

Well, turns out it wasn't the front brakes that were preventing it from moving.
Upon closer review, I fount that the brake calipers were rubbing against the inner race of the rim, thus preventing movement.
So I am now on the hunt for some bigger rims. Maybe some 20" spinners? Nah, that would be ghey...

At Last!

Well, I finally got around to finishing the install of the suspension.

Before

After

Granted, it is hard to tell a difference, but it is noticeable when standing beside it. Also, once the engine and all other accessories are in, it will bring it a little lower.

Possible Problems
The rear tires come dangerously close to rubbing the bed of the truck on the inside walls of the tires.
The front brakes are preventing the truck from moving. I consulted the Dyalopedia and the nut holding the discs may be too tight. So I will have to try and loosen that to see if thats the problem.

What's Next
Next up... Brake lines and Fuel lines.
Then its engine and transmission time!!!

Brakes, Fuel, and Dropping Stuff

The truck is coming together... literally... I think we have removed everything we can possibly remove. It now has new Drums in the rear, and we switched to LARGE x-drilled disk in the front and also added a power brake booster. The truck now sits about 2" lower in the front thanks to drop spindles and 3" lower in the back thanks to new springs. We hung a new fuel tank under the bed (where the bed will be anyway.), and we painted the under carriage and components before mounting everything. We still lack the fuel lines, break lines, rear shocks, and a upper rear spring mount. But I would definitely call this weekend a success.

Blasted and Primed

Well, its back and still in one piece. Sort of...
After having a little trouble finding a trailer to pick the truck up in, we were finally on our way to pick it up. Of course, our biggest concern in finding a trailer was that is should be wide enough for the truck to fit on. We didn't think once about whether it was long enough.. So, after a few minutes of engine ingenuity, we got it on the trailer and back to the house.
The process of sandblasting strips a part of all paint, so the truck had to be primed right away to prevent any rusting. Well, it wouldn't be right if it didn't rain that saturday morning. So we brought the truck home in the rain. After that, its pretty easy to see where the truck didn't get primed, cause it was rusting fast.
Thanks to Ronnie, we were also able to build a small shed that day to put it under so that we didn't have to cover it with a tarp.
Also, a new name should be given to the truck. My mom had an excellent point while waiting on the truck to be ready. She said it should be called the "Silver Doller". One because it is silver now and two because it cost lots and lots of dollars!!

Happy & Sad Day

Saturday April 1st: The weather man must have thought it was funny but we didn't. It was suppose to rain all day, with the addition of lighting in the afternoon. So we got up early to unload the parts out of the bed and remove it. It drizzled the whole time but we managed to get the bed off. (by the way, a Sawsall is you best friend for this) That after noon we rolled the cab and frame on the trailer and laid the bed on the back. The truck is very light at this point. After a 4-wheeler wheelie popping demo by my brother (Bob). We took "That-Can't-B-Good" (the trucks new name) to Jimm's for sand blasting. He quoted us $320 to blast and prime the cab and frame and an added $100 to do the bed by itself. Not sure about doing the whole thing all @ once. It was kinda sad dropping it off... Knowing it will never look the same again. But if there is anything left after the sand hits it, we should have a good clean slate to work with. We should have it back this weekend. Expect lots of pics of large holes.
