Uh Oh
Well, turns out it wasn't the front brakes that were preventing it from moving.
Upon closer review, I fount that the brake calipers were rubbing against the inner race of the rim, thus preventing movement.
So I am now on the hunt for some bigger rims. Maybe some 20" spinners? Nah, that would be ghey...

Hey, any progress since '06?
well, in a round about way, yes and no. At the time that I was working on this, my wife was pregnant with our first child. Since then, we have had 2 more kids (3 total in 11 months..), moved to a new house, and gone thru a few vehicles.
The pictures below show the truck down in Lagrange, GA, which was 60 miles from where i lived. So i could only work on it so much.
Since moving, I was able to bring the truck home and its now at my house.
The engine is fully rebuilt (327 SBC) and I have a 700R4 transmission for it.
In order to put those in, I have to run fuel lines and brake lines before doing so.
So right now, thats where its at.
Just waiting until I have more time to work on it.
At least now, its not sitting in a ditch rusting away...
Hey Kevin, Another three years has elapsed, got that truck put together yet? Next month I plan to start in hard after the bodywork on mine. Got married a year ago and now I have to justify the money and garage space it's taken! Hope you're doing well.
3 YEARS ALREADY!!! Unfortunately, no, I haven't done squat on it. At the moment, it's still in the garage, but it is well preserved. I had an itch earlier this summer to work on it, but decided to put efforts in the design and built of a shop building in my backyard to put it in. So once that's done, i'm hoping to get to it.
Also, congrats on the marriage!! It is astounding how fast time flies after kids and marriage.
