What we "know"

Here is the Story from Kevin's dad:

It wasn't parked because of anything major. I think it was something minor and I never got it fixed. I do know that the ball joints on the front end are about worn out. If you get above 50mph, the front end starts dancing. The original factory motor was a 283, which had something major wrong with it. Marianna's first husband at the time, had a Chevy Nova that he had this 327 engine in, and believe me, those 327s would haul buggy. But he wanted a 350 in the Nova, so I bought the 327 from him and in doing so, gave him the 283. Then he and a couple of other guys help put the 327 in. So, being that the 327 came out of a 68 Chevy, it was most likely rebuilt, but it definitely run good. I don't remember having to put any major parts on it at all.

And yes, Dad bought that truck new in 1966. It was the first brand new vehicle that we ever owned. And I think the sales price was around $3500. I seen the invoice a long time back, but forgot the exact amount, but that is close. Could have been $2500, but not more than 3500.
